Animal Exhibits

The Fair is pleased to welcome the world famous Budweiser Clydesdales. These animals must meet strict requirements in order to tour with the famous hitch across the nation. They must be at least six feet tall and have exact coloring on their faces and legs. Clydesdales are capable of pulling over a ton at five miles per hour. If you miss a performance, you can visit them in their barn near the Green Gate.

Mutton Bustin' is similar to the world it imitates - bull riding. Contestants ages 6 years and younger and less than 60 lbs. attempt to last six seconds on a sheep that's as unpredictable as a bull. What could be more fun for a 6-year-old than holding onto a sheep and lasting 6 seconds!

Qualifying rounds lead up to the championship performances. Everyone who wants to ride gets to ride. Sheep are released from a chute, just like a bull riding competition, and take the rider to the other side of the arena. It's tough to hold on! These young riders excite the crowd, and everyone cheers them on. Prizes, trophies, buckles are the awards that are given to the riders. Cost to compete is $10.

Enjoy these magnificent animals in daily demonstrations in Paulhamus Arena or visit them in their barn just outside the Arena.
